I’ve said before that reviewing books of people I’ve met is difficult for me because I give honest reviews and if a book is bad I hate to say that because I know many sleepless nights went into that book, especially someone’s first book. Well, rest easy, Christine Hoover, “The Church Planting Wife,” is an excellent, heart breaking, honest, and refreshing book.
I’ll be honest, I am not a church planter wife but I am married to a minister and I know some church planting wives. Reading through the Table of Contents made me think this book would be good for all ministry wives, not just church planting wives. Listen to these chapters: The Heart of the Church Planting Wife, The Dependent Heart, The Helping Heart, The Sacrificial Heart, The Healed Heart, The Encouraged Heart, and many more. How many of you already know what chapter you would read first? I know, me too. Ministry wives have a lot of hurts and hang ups and it’s always good to know you are not the only one.
“The Church Planting Wife,” is a refreshing read because it’s written by real women telling their real stories about ministry and church planting. Ladies, ministry is hard and being married to a minister is hard, but God has called those He knows are qualified. We are qualified and we are loved by our God and our husbands.
I simply cannot say enough good things about this book except you must go buy it! Support this author and her efforts to encourage ministry wives across the globe.
