To continue my holiday book reviews I’m introducing you to, “Countdown to Christmas,” by Theresa Seidlitz. Theresa is the ten year old author of this book that takes you through the Jesse Tree tradition leading up to Christmas. I encourage you to read her author’s note at the beginning of the book to introduce your children to a child author. She describes how her family uses this tradition each year.
I love the simplicity of this book. The stories are one page long and the paper ornaments are easy to punch out in the back of the book. No special cutting, no long draw out stories that will easily lose your child’s attention. Advent books are great for kids to keep the focus of the holidays off toys and such but if you are stressed out and on edge during these traditions it’s really not worth it in the long run. Everyone’s frustrated and you’re disappointed in yourself for not attaining holiday Pinterest worthy perfection.
Because I love the simplicity of this book I’m giving it away! Because it involves counting down to Christmas I want you to have the book by December 1st. To enter all you have to do is make sure you are following my blog and leave a comment on this post that describes your favorite Christmas tradition. Now, because I want you to have the book by December 1st I’m randomly selecting a name Wednesday for the winner!
Thank you Canter Press for the review copy of this book and also for sponsoring the giveaway.
